Can't Help You Revisited
ChrisCrossings · May 14, 1999

As a Flight Attendant with 15 years seniority, I had to write and tell you that you have a new fan. Your answer to Sue Eagans' question about help from Attendants was a joy to read. Because I'm a tall male who looks like he cares (because I do), I am constantly asked (expected) to put passengers bags into the overhead bins. It's taken me a long time to be able to actually say no to these requests. During the last 10 years, I've been on two medical disability leaves due to back problems directly related to the constant lifting of heavy bags over my head. You said it best with "My advice is to pack light and don't carry anything on the plane that you can't lift. Leave the flight attendants out of this." On behalf of thousands of us who are out here doing our best to make our passengers happy despite having a lot less to work with these days, thank you.
